What this covers
Mark It. (operated by Mark It Cards LLC) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use markitcards.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version:we collect only what we need to design, print, and mail your postcard, and to run our business. We don’t sell your data, we don’t use it for advertising to third parties, and we don’t share your recipients’ addresses with anyone except our print partner.
What we collect
From you:
- Your email address (for order confirmation, account access, receipts)
- Your name and return address (printed on the postcard)
- Recipient names and addresses (printed on the postcard, sent to USPS via our print partner)
- The photo you upload and the message you write
- Payment details (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number)
- If you opt in: birthdays and anniversaries of your recipients, for reminder emails
Automatically:
- Anonymized analytics about how you use the Site (page views, device type, referrer)
- Basic technical information (IP address, browser)
- Cookies used to keep your cart contents, keep you signed in, and prevent abuse
How we use it
- To design, print, address, stamp, and mail your postcard
- To send you order confirmations, shipping notifications, and — if you opt in — occasional reminder emails
- To provide customer support
- To improve the product (aggregated, anonymized analytics only)
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
Who we share it with
We share only what’s necessary, only with these partners:
- Lob — our print & mail partner. Receives the recipient address, return address, photo, and message so they can print and mail the postcard.
- Stripe — payment processor. Handles payment details we never see.
- Resend — email delivery. Sends order confirmations and magic-link sign-in emails.
- OpenAI — AI message generator. Receives the occasion, recipient details, and your prompt to draft the message. Does not receive your photo, address, or payment info.
- Vercel — hosting. Site infrastructure and file storage for photos and signatures.
- USPS — the postal service that delivers the mail.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we’re legally required to (typically 7 years for tax and business records). Photos you upload are retained so you can reference past cards in your account. You can request deletion at any time — see “Your rights” below.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the Site working: to remember your cart contents, keep you signed in, and prevent abuse. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymized usage stats — it doesn’t require cookies. We don’t use tracking cookies for advertising.
Your rights
You can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time (link in every email)
- Ask us to stop processing your data

Children
Mark It. is not designed for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data — encrypted connections, encrypted storage, and access controls. Nothing on the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we’ll post the new effective date at the top and, for existing customers, send an email.
